Support

As fellow outdoor enthusiasts, we want you to be able to fully unleash the potential that lurks inside every Predator Bike. That’s why we have created several product-supporting tools, including instructional “how to” videos and manuals. Also, check out our FAQs on The Bike page.

BEST WAY TO MAKE YOUR BATTERY LAST….

There are several things one can do with lithium-ion batteries to make them last longer.

TEMPERATURE

· The main reason behind battery damage and reduced battery life is high temperatures. Hence, never overheat them. If the battery is charged at a temperature somewhere around 45°C/113°F, then it will make your batteries age faster. The more time they spend being warm or hot, and the hotter they get, the more damage you’re causing. Store your batteries in a climate controlled environment for long term storage or during extreme conditions (hot or cold).

· Avoid using batteries when they’re very cold. The chemical reactions in a battery are a lot less efficient at low temperatures leading to poor performance. The sudden heating of the battery when cold can cause localized internal heating, possibly damaging the battery.

CHARGING

· Once the battery is charged, unplug the charger before using the bike and allow it (battery) to cool to room temperature before using it.

· Never charge the battery at a temperature below 0°C/32°F as it causes the metal to be plated inside the battery eventually leading to an internal short circuit and possibly bursting of the battery.

· Make sure you use the provided charger from Predator Bikes that turns off automatically once the charge is complete.

DISCHARGING

· If you want your batteries to last long, never let them be fully emptied. The worst thing you can do is to let your batteries get below 30%.

· Prior to charging it, after you have used your battery, let it cool to room temperature.

· Li-Ion batteries do not need to be discharged occasionally all the way down to 0% as they do not suffer from “memory” loss.

· Partial discharging and recharging multiple times is much better for long battery life than discharging it all the way down to where the mode indicates “low battery” and then recharging.

CONCLUSION

Your Lithium-Ion battery has an integrated BMS (Battery Management System), which maximizes the performance of the battery by automatically balancing the cells and protecting them from being over charged or over discharged. Following the above guidelines will help provide a longer lasting battery and ultimately more power and range for your Predator Bike.
